List of political parties in Benin
|
Template:Politics of Benin This article lists political parties in Benin.
Benin has a two-party system, which means that there are two dominant political parties or coalitions, with extreme difficulty for anybody to achieve electoral success under the banner of any other party.
The current ruling coalition is called the Presidential Movement and is made up of the Union of Tomorrow's Benin (UBF), African Movement for Democracy and Progress (MADEP), Key Force (FC), Impulse for Progress and Democracy (IPD), and 4 other small parties. The main opposition parties include the Renaissance Party du Benin (PRB), Democratic Renewal Party (PRD), Front for Renewal and Development (FARD-ALAFIA), and the Alliance of the Social Democratic Party (PSD).
The parties
- The general rule on naming applies. That means: the parties are named in the English translation and the original native name is placed on the first line of the article unless the native form is more commonly used in English than the English form. Rationale and specifics: See: Wikipedia:Naming conventions (use English).
