Historical Styles of the Effective Heads of State of Australia
|
This is a List of de jure effective or nominal Heads of State of Australia, showing historical dignitary styles.
The styles shown form the full titles of the incumbent whilst in office, though they may not have been used together in their entirety at any one time.
From the federation, on 1 January 1901, of the Australian colonies into the Commonwealth of Australia (with dominion status within the British Empire) until the adoption in 1942 of The Statute of Westminster, 1931 which provided independence, the sovereign of the British Empire was de jure head of state.
