|
The following is a list of lawsuits relating to haircuts:
- Shelley Osborne launched a $10.5 million lawsuit against Ginny Barbee, a hairstylist, and the owner of the salon, J.C. Penney after she claimed that Barbee "ruined" her waist length hair by trimming it to the shoulder. A Johnson City, Tennessee court dismissed the case.
- In March 2002 a class action lawsuit was filed asking that federal courts prohibit California prisons from cutting inmates' hair with unsterilized clippers. The suit argued that thousands of prisoners have been exposed to HIV or hepatitis from unsanitary haircutting practices.
- In May, 2005, former astronaut Neil Armstrong sued his barber for selling clippings of his hair without permission.
