Lisle is a town located in Broome County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,707.
The Town of Lisle was formed from the Town of Union in 1801. The town includes a village also called Lisle. The town is in the northwest part of the county.

Geography
The north town line is the border of Cortland County, New York and the west town line is the border of Tioga County, New York.
The Tioughnioga River passes through the town.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 121.7 km² (47.0 mi²). 121.5 km² (46.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.1 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.11% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 2,707 people, 971 households, and 726 families residing in the town. The population density is 22.3/km² (57.7/mi²). There are 1,083 housing units at an average density of 8.9/km² (23.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 98.37% White, 0.44% Black or African American, 0.30% Native American, 0.04% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.18% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. 0.33% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 971 households out of which 37.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% are married couples living together, 10.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 25.2% are non-families. 20.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.79 and the average family size is 3.21.
In the town the population is spread out with 29.6% under the age of 18, 8.7% from 18 to 24, 30.1% from 25 to 44, 21.1% from 45 to 64, and 10.5% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 35 years. For every 100 females there are 101.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 100.0 males.
The median income for a household in the town is $34,240, and the median income for a family is $37,639. Males have a median income of $26,445 versus $22,455 for females.
