Groenlo is a municipality and a city in the eastern Netherlands. On January 1, 2005, the municipality of Groenlo has merged with Lichtenvoorde. Although the official name of the new municipality is "Groenlo", the municipal council uses the name Groenlo-Lichtenvoorde, and an official name change is expected in 2006.

The city of Groenlo
Groenlo is famous for its own beer brewery Grolsch, which is in business since 1615. Every season has its own special beer type. Grolsch is exported all over the world.
Groenlo received city rights in 1277.
