Liam Padraic Aiken (born January 7, 1990) is an American actor who made his debut in a Ford Windstar commercial. Born in New York City, New York, Liam made his stage debut in the Broadway play A Doll's House at the age of seven. He made his first film playing Parker Posey's son in Henry’s Fool in the same year. He got into acting on the suggestion of his mother, to raise himself a college fund. His first major film role before 2004 was playing Susan Sarandon's young son in Stepmom as Ben Harrison in 1998. He also appeared as Tom Hanks' doomed younger son in the 2002 film Road to Perdition. He starred in the talking dog movie Good Boy! playing the lead, Owen Baker, in 2003. At the end of shooting Good Boy! he was given a present from the crew: an Italian Greyhound which he named Kes based on old English film. He turned down the role of Cole Sear in The Sixth Sense, as his mother felt the role focussed too much on death. Haley Joel Osment got the part. Liam was also considered for the role of Harry Potter as he had previously worked with director Chris Columbus, but he was unable to take the part as he was not English.
Liam is an only child. His father William died from cancer when Liam was two and he lives with his mother in New Jersey. His favorite movies are The Sting and The Italian Job. He plays the acoustic guitar, but is a fan of punk music and aspires to play the guitar like Rage Against the Machine's Tom Morello.
He is currently a student of Dwight-Englewood School. He is part of the class of 2008.
In December 2004, he was seen in his most prominent role in the film Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events with Jim Carrey playing Klaus Baudelaire the avid, orphaned reader from the popular books of the same name.
As of 2005, Liam is to star in Kenneth Oppel's Airborn, due out May of 2006.
