Lewis Nash

Lewis Nash (born in 1958) is an American jazz drummer who has played in the hard bop and post-bop genres.
At 23 he joined Betty Carter's band, and appears on many of her records from the 1980s. He then spent ten years with the Tommy Flanagan Trio, and also performed and recorded with Cyrus Chestnut, Scott Hamilton, Branford Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Jackie McLean, Oscar Peterson, Sonny Rollins, Bud Shank, Horace Silver, Clark Terry, and McCoy Tyner, among others.
He formed his own group, the Lewis Nash Ensemble, in the late 1990s. In 2001, he joined the faculty of Juilliard School of Music.
His only album as a leader is Rhythm is My Business (1989). Template:Musician-stub
