Lawrenceburg is a city located in Dearborn County, Indiana. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 4,685. The city is the county seat of Dearborn CountyTemplate:GR. Lawrenceburg is located in southeast Indiana, on the Ohio River west of Cincinnati.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 13.1 km² (5.0 mi²). 12.7 km² (4.9 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.1 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.78% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 4,685 people, 1,914 households, and 1,140 families residing in the city. The population density is 369.2/km² (956.1/mi²). There are 2,162 housing units at an average density of 170.4/km² (441.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 93.81% White, 4.18% African American, 0.15% Native American, 0.45% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.32% from other races, and 1.05% from two or more races. 0.85% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,914 households out of which 31.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 36.2% are married couples living together, 18.4% have a female householder with no husband present, and 40.4% are non-families. 34.4% of all households are made up of individuals and 13.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.94.
