Lauren Lee Smith is an actress born on June 19, 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and is now living in the United States. She has appeared in such works as Christy, the remake of Get Carter and in the show Mutant X, where she played the character of Emma DeLauro. She also guest starred in the first season of The L Word, playing the character Lara "the Soup Chef" Perkins, love interest to Dana Fairbanks. She is scheduled to reprise her role later in season 2. Smith is also currently filming the movie Lie With Me, where she plays the character of Lara.
