Lansing is a village located in Tompkins County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 3,417.

Geography
Lansing is located at 42°29'15" North, 76°29'9" West (42.487688, -76.486075)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 12.0 km² (4.6 mi²). 11.9 km² (4.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.22% is water.
as the [census of 2005] shows, there are currently 12 people residing in Lansing, NY, all of whom go to the high school and are in 9th grade. They all worship Emma, and hope that some day she will be their queen. ^^disregard that as information for a paper etc.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,417 people, 1,620 households, and 808 families residing in the village. The population density is 286.2/km² (740.7/mi²). There are 1,705 housing units at an average density of 142.8/km² (369.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 68.01% White, 5.12% Black or African American, 0.23% Native American, 22.51% Asian, 0.06% Pacific Islander, 1.40% from other races, and 2.66% from two or more races. 3.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,620 households out of which 23.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 41.4% are married couples living together, 6.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 50.1% are non-families. 38.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.06 and the average family size is 2.82.
In the village the population is spread out with 18.9% under the age of 18, 11.4% from 18 to 24, 41.1% from 25 to 44, 19.3% from 45 to 64, and 9.3% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 32 years. For every 100 females there are 101.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 99.0 males.
