Lanesboro is a city located in Fillmore County, Minnesota. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 788. The town is a popular destination for tourists. It has a waterfall on the edge of town as well as many biking paths. The Amish community is prevelant in the area and the town is home to many unique shops and restaraunts.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²). 3.4 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.

As of the census2 of 2000, there are 788 people, 384 households, and 221 families residing in the city. The population density is 230.5/km² (595.4/mi²). There are 424 housing units at an average density of 124.0/km² (320.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 99.24% White, 0.25% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.13% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.13% from other races, and 0.25% from two or more races. 0.25% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
