Sylvia, Lady Hermon

Sylvia, Lady Hermon (born 11 August 1955) is a Northern Ireland unionist politician.
She has been Ulster Unionist Party Member of Parliament for North Down since 2001 when she defeated the incumbent MP, Robert McCartney. She had the support of the local branch of the Alliance Party of Northern Ireland who withdrew their candidate from the contest.
She is married to Sir Jack Hermon, former Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary.
She was the only Ulster Unionist MP to be returned to Westminster in the 2005 general election.
