Lady Davina Lewis

The Lady Davina Elizabeth Alice Benedikte Lewis, née Windsor, is the elder daughter of HRH Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester and HRH The Duchess of Gloucester, nèe Birgitte Eva van Deurs. She was born at St Mary's Hospital, Paddington, London on November 19, 1977. She is currently 20th in line to the throne.
Lady Davina was educated at Kensington Preparatory School in Notting Hill, followed by St George's School in Ascot, Berkshire. She is a graduate of the University of the West of England with a degree in media studies.
On Saturday 31 July 2004, Lady Davina married Gary Lewis, a New Zealander and nephew of noted author Witi Ihimaera. The wedding took place at the chapel of Kensington Palace, Lady Davina's childhood home. Gary Lewis aged 33 at the time of the wedding, is a builder and a surfing enthusiast. He is the first person of Maori descent to marry into the British Royal Family.
The couple had known each other for four years, having met on vacation in Bali when the future bride had finished her studies. Apart from TRH The Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, no other members of the Royal Family were present at the wedding. Lady Davina's late grandmother HRH Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester was not present, but was reportedly visited by the newly married couple shortly afterwards.
