La Jornada

La Jornada is one of Mexico's leading daily newspapers. It was established in 1984 by Carlos Payán Velver.
La Jornada generally takes left-of-center stances, criticizing the Fox administration and some of the consequences of economic liberalization. It is also sympathetic toward the Zapatista movement.
The editor (directora general) is Carmen Lira.
The online version was launched in 1995. There are no restrictions on access, including the archives.
