Kristin Krohn Devold

Kristin Krohn Devold (born in Ålesund, August 12, 1961) is a Norwegian politician. She is currently the Norwegian Minister of Defence, a position she has held since 2001. She belongs to the Norwegian conservative party, Høyre. She is married and has two children.
Krohn Devold has a Master of Science Degree in Business from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH), Bergen, 1985. She was elected Member of Parliament (Stortinget) 1993-97, 1997-2001, 2001-05, representing Oslo. She was mentioned as a possible candidate for the position of Secretary General of NATO after George Robertson, but eventually lost out to Jaap de Hoop Scheffer.
