Kingston is a census-designated place located in Kitsap County, Washington. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 1,611. Kingston is located on the shore of Puget Sound, and is home to a major Washington State Ferries terminal linking it to Edmonds.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 6.3 km² (2.4 mi²). 4.3 km² (1.6 mi²) of it is land and 2.0 km² (0.8 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 32.10% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 1,611 people, 685 households, and 452 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 377.0/km² (977.2/mi²). There are 773 housing units at an average density of 180.9/km² (468.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 91.06% White, 0.25% African American, 1.18% Native American, 2.30% Asian, 0.99% Pacific Islander, 1.61% from other races, and 2.61% from two or more races. 2.73% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 685 households out of which 30.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 54.9% are married couples living together, 7.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.0% are non-families. 26.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.35 and the average family size is 2.86.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 23.8% under the age of 18, 4.4% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 27.7% from 45 to 64, and 15.1% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 41 years. For every 100 females there are 95.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 87.6 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP is $40,347, and the median income for a family is $54,583. Males have a median income of $43,839 versus $25,781 for females. The per capita income for the CDP is $24,212. 11.2% of the population and 9.2% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 17.9% of those under the age of 18 and 13.7% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
