History
Created as a planned adult community, King City was incorporated in March of 1966. The city's legal restrictions which forbid minors from living within its city limits for more than a short time have since been subjected to increasing criticism.
Due to controversy in the annexation by the City of Tigard of the Bull Mountain area directly north of King City, a proposal for King City to annex the area instead was made. Since the population and size of Bull Mountain is significantly large, compared with King City, this would be a noteworthy change in King City.
