Kilkenny Township is a township located in Coos County, New Hampshire. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 0. In New Hampshire, locations, grants, townships (which are different from towns), and purchases are unincorporated portions of a county which are not part of any town and have limited self-government (if any, as many are uninhabited).
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 66.4 km² (25.6 mi²). 66.4 km² (25.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.04% is water. Kilkenny is located entirely within the boundaries of the White Mountain National Forest and is home to Mount Waumbek and Mount Cabot (in the Pilot Range), each over 4,000 feet high. The Willard Bowl north of Mount Waumbek, drained by the Garland Brook, was considered as a site for development of a ski area in 1971. On the 1896 topographic map there was a B&M railroad spur up the Garland Brook.
