Kilburn tube station

Kilburn tube station is a London Underground station at Kilburn in north-west London. It is on the Jubilee Line, situated between Willesden Green and West Hampstead tube stations. It is in Travelcard Zone 2.
The station is situated on a viaduct crossing the main A5 trunk road at the north end of a stretch known as Kilburn High Road. It is approximately one mile south of the Cricklewood area.
It opened as Kilburn and Brondesbury on 24 November 1879, as part of the Metropolitan Line. It then became part of the Stanmore branch of the Bakerloo Line in 1939, before gaining its current name on September 25, 1950. It was transferred to the Jubilee Line on its opening, in 1979.
Apparently some locals would like the station renamed Mapesbury, referring to a posh "conservation area" of suburban houses just to the north west of the station.
