Kieko Hashiguchi is a flutist contemporary Japanese virtuoso.
Kieko Hashiguchi was born in 1964 in the town of Nyugawa, Toyo located near Imabari in Ehime prefecture, island of Shikoku, Japan.
She is a grandaughter of Yoshiro Hashiguchi (1918- KIA 1944), one of the Japanese aces in WW2.
Graduate of the National Academy of Music in Tokyo, she began her career at the Institute of Music. She then improves in Salzburg and Paris.
Her repertory alternates the Japanese traditional musics, where she occurs accompanied by koto and shamisen with the Western classical music, in particular Johann Sebastian Bach.
