You Kicked My Dog
|
"You Kicked My Dog" (a.k.a. "Kick-Dog") is a track released by the prank call comedian Kerpal. It came out in 1995 (see 1995 in music), but didn't appear on any albums or releases from any artist. Kerpal, a character of ambiguous South Asian descent, created by an unknown prank caller. Though widely believed to be a creation of the Jerky Boys, they have never claimed ownership.
This call is about Aptar's older daughter who kicked Kerpal's dog. Unfortunately, Kerpal would be lying because the daughter told him she didn't kick his dog and also explained to Kerpal that she doesn't even know him.
The correct spelling is actually Kirpal. At least 3 different Flash animations have been created to visualize this call. The simplest one, thought to be the original, and some say their favorite, is found here: http://www.hahahumor.com/funny-flash-animations/kerpal.swf
Soundboards based on this prank call have been created. Various pranks using this one, have been spoofed in real life, some even being recorded and named as "You Kicked My Dog (part 2 or higher)". The version which people consider the real "part 2" is one that features a conversation between another Indian (who some people say is Kerpal, but in the video, he states he is (pronounced similarly to) "Perpal") who calls another Indian requesting to pick him up from the airport, but results in a "swear word conflict".
