Kebechet
|
Kebechet was the goddess of freshness and purification in Egyptian mythology. She is also known as Qébéhout, Kabechet, Kebehut and Kebhut. She was the daughter of Anpu (Anubis), the God of death and is considered the grand-daughter of either Osiris or Ra. Kebechet was depicted as a woman with the head of a snake or a snake with a body of stars and had the role of overseeing purification through water. In rare instances she was pictured as an ostrich.
