Kamikuishiki, Yamanashi

Kamikuishiki (上九一色村; -mura) is a village located in Nishiyatsushiro District, Yamanashi, Japan. The village plans to merge with the town of Fujikawaguchiko, and the city of Kofu in spring 2006. As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 1,584 and a density of 18.29 persons per km². The total area is 86.59 km².
Shojiko and Motosuko, two of the Fuji Five Lakes, are in Kamikuishiki.
Aum Shinrikyo had a facility in the town. There, Shoko Asahara was arrested for the Sarin gas attack on the Tokyo subway of March 20, 1995.
