Jollibee (PSE: JFC (http://www.pse.com.ph/html/MarketInformation/stockinfo.jsp?securitySymbol=JFC)) is a fast food chain based in the Philippines. There are locations in 6 countries around the world, namely Philippines, United States, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Indonesia and Brunei. Jollibee is also the name of Jollibee's mascot, a big bee in a blazer, shirt and chef's hat. It primarily caters to Filipino taste, and has a Filipino as the CEO. It specializes in chicken, burgers, and spaghetti.
The franchise was founded as an ice cream parlor in 1975 by Tony Tan Caktiong. They later expanded to serving sandwiches and spaghetti, and before long the hot meals were outselling the ice cream. The ice cream parlors were converted into dine-in fast-food restaurants named "Jolly Bee". Today it is found in over 900 locations in the Philippines and 29 locations overseas.
