John A. Sullivan (born January 1, 1965) is an American politician. He has represented Oklahoma's First Congressional District (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/ok01_109.gif)) in the United States House of Representatives, based in Tulsa, since 2002.
A fourth-generation Oklahoman and real-estate broker, Sullivan had been a Republican member of the Oklahoma House of Representatives since 1995 when seven-year incumbent Steve Largent resigned to focus on his campaign for governor. Incumbent governor Frank Keating's wife, Cathy, was widely expected to win the Republican primary, which was thought to be tantamount to election in the heavily Republican district. However, Sullivan scored a major upset and went on to win in the February special election. He won the seat in his own right in November and was reelected in 2004, both times by overwhelming margins.
