John McCarthy (journalist)

John McCarthy is a British journalist, kidnapped by terrorists in Lebanon in April 1986 and held hostage for more than 5 years. McCarthy is known as Britain's longest-held hostage in Lebanon. McCarthy was released from captivity 08 August 1991. He shared cell with the Irish Brian Keenan for several years.
