Johann Evangelist Haydn
|
Johann Evangelist Haydn (1743—1805) was a tenor singer, the younger brother of the composers Joseph Haydn and Michael Haydn. For a long time he sang in the chapel of Joseph Haydn's patron, Prince Esterházy. "Hansl" Haydn, as he was known to his brothers, was apparently not a very good singer, and was kept in the employ of the Eszterházys as a favor to his illustrious older brother Joseph, who served the Eszterházys as music director.
