Jim Leyland

Jim Leyland (born December 15, 1944) is a former Major League Baseball manager who led the wild-card Florida Marlins to the World Series championship in 1997. He managed the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1986 to 1996, the Marlins during 1997 and 1998 and the Colorado Rockies in 1999.
His career managerial record is 1069-1131, a .486 winning percentage. He led the Pirates to three straight division titles from 1990-1992. He won two Manager of the Year Awards with the Pirates in 1990 and 1992. When he left managing after the 1999 season, he became a scout for the St. Louis Cardinals.
