Jillian Noel Hennessy (born November 25, 1968 in Edmonton, Alberta) is a Canadian actress, best known for her television roles on Law & Order (1993-1996) and Crossing Jordan (2001-present). Her identical twin sister, Jacqueline, is a magazine writer and TV show host in Canada. She and her sister played twins in Dead Ringers (1988).
Hennessy is most famous for playing ADA Claire Kincaid on Law & Order and the lead in her own show, Crossing Jordan as ME Dr. Jordan Cavanaugh.
Hennessy is multi-lingual, being able to speak Italian, French, Spanish, and German. This is partly because of her mixed heritage, which included Irish, Italian, Swedish, French, and Ukrainian.</p>
Her husband, Paolo, opened a tavern in Northvale, New Jersey in 1999, and named it Hennessy, after his wife. The tavern serves comfort food. Hennessy also enjoys riding motorcycles with her husband. She gave birth to a son, Marco, on 17 September 2003. They also had a second marriage ceremony in January, 2001, that was at New York City Hall, with Rudolph Guiliani officating. "Crossing Jordan" co-star, Miguel Ferrer says that Hennessy is a "non-angry" version of her character, Jordan Cavanaugh. Hennessy is also such a fan of the Indigo Girls that a poster of the act hangs in the kitchen of Jordan's apartment. Hennessy also was a finalist for the Role of Dana Scully, on The X-Files, but the role went to Gillian Anderson. Hennessy graduated from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada's Grand River Collegiate (high school). Hennessy's father, John, was a meat salesman, which required considerable travel and resulted in frequent moves. Her mother, Maxine, left the family. She also has a younger brother, John Jr.
