Jenks Township is a township located in Forest County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,261.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 219.3 km² (84.7 mi²). 218.9 km² (84.5 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.19% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,261 people, 510 households, and 336 families residing in the township. The population density is 5.8/km² (14.9/mi²). There are 1,623 housing units at an average density of 7.4/km² (19.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 98.41% White, 0.40% African American, 0.32% Native American, 0.08% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.79% from two or more races. 0.56% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 510 households out of which 23.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 55.3% are married couples living together, 8.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% are non-families. 30.8% of all households are made up of individuals and 14.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.84.
