The Japanese Robin (Erithacus akahige, formerly Luscinia akahige) or komadori is one of the three famous songbirds of Japan that are known for their calls (the other two are the Blue-and-white Flycatcher and Japanese Bush Warbler). The name "Japanese Robin" is also sometimes used for the species Leiothrix lutea.
