Järvenpää (Träskända in Swedish) is a town and municipality of Finland.
It is located in the province of Southern Finland and is part of the Uusimaa region. The municipality has a population of 37,114 (2003) and covers an area of 39.88 km² of which 2.42 km² is water. The population density is 930.6 inhabitants per km².
The municipality is unilingually Finnish.
It was the home of Jean Sibelius and his family from 1904. This timber-built villa "Ainola" was designed by the famous Finnish architect Lars Sonck.
