The V2500 is a turbofan which powers the Airbus A320 family, (A320,A321,A319 and the Airbus Corporate Jet.), and the McDonnell Douglas MD-90 family. The V2500 engine is produced by International Aero Engines which is made up of four of the world's leading aero-engine manufacturers. The companies, and their respective responsibilities are listed below,

The V2500 incorporates technologies developed from the partner company engines such as the Rolls-Royce RB211 and the Pratt & Whitney PW4000. More than 1,500 engines delivered have accumulated more than 19 million flight hours. IAE's 80 customers include regional and large international carriers from 35 countries worldwide.
In 2001 IAE's market share soared to 72%, making the V2500 the engine of choice for Airbus' A320 family aircraft.
