Inkster is a city located in Wayne County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 30,115.

Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 30,115 people, 11,169 households, and 7,460 families residing in the city. The population density is 1,857.4/km² (4,808.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 25.14% White, 67.51% African American, 0.41% Native American, 3.42% Asian, 0.01% Pacific Islander, 0.74% from other races, and 2.76% from two or more races. 1.60% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 11,169 households out of which 33.1% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 34.0% are married couples living together, 26.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 33.2% are non-families. 27.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.67 and the average family size is 3.26.
