Iidabashi Station
|
Iidabashi Station (飯田橋駅) is a major interchange station in Tokyo's Chūō ward, with some underground sections of the station complex located in Shinjuku and Bunkyō wards. It was originally built as Iidamachi station (albeit in a slightly different location), terminus of the then Kobu railway, precursor to today's Chuo Line.
Lines
JR:
- Sobu Line Chuo Main Line
(Although originally a Chuo Main line station, Iidabashi now only serves Chuo/Sobu local services, except for early morning/late nights.)
Underground (subway):
- Tokyo Metro Tōzai Line (東西線)
- Tokyo Metro Yūrakuchō Line (有楽町線)
- Tokyo Metro Nanboku Line (南北線)
- Toei Toei Oedo Line (都営大江戸線)
Layout
The JR station has one platform, serving the up and down local lines; there is no platform for the parallel rapid double track (for longer-distance commuter and express Chuo Line trains). The station is located on the inside of the Outer Moat. It is elevated over Mejiro-dori, a major thoroughfare from the imperial palace towards Ikebukuro.
