Iams is the brand name for dog food and cat food manufactured by Procter & Gamble. The Iams Company was acquired by Procter & Gamble in September 1999.
Iams has been criticized by a number of animal rights organizations, notably PETA and In Defense of Animals, for the animal testing that they carry out. Iams states that the tests are necessary for research on pet nutrition and allergies.
