Huguley is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Chambers County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the community is 2,953.
Geography
Huguley is located at 32°50'16.811" North, 85°13'59.300" West (32.838003, -85.233139)Template:GR.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 22.7 km² (8.8 mi²). 22.7 km² (8.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,953 people, 1,154 households, and 850 families residing in the community. The population density is 129.9/km² (336.5/mi²). There are 1,241 housing units at an average density of 54.6/km² (141.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 73.76% White, 25.16% Black or African American, 0.10% Native American, 0.07% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.10% from other races, and 0.81% from two or more races. 1.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,154 households out of which 33.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 53.6% are married couples living together, 15.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.3% are non-families. 23.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.56 and the average family size is 3.01.
In the community the population is spread out with 25.8% under the age of 18, 9.5% from 18 to 24, 28.5% from 25 to 44, 25.0% from 45 to 64, and 11.2% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 36 years. For every 100 females there are 94.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 89.4 males.
