Hopton-on-Sea is a small village on the Norfolk coast of eastern England. It was, until the 1970s, in the county of Suffolk and is very close to the UK's most easterly point, Sparrow's Nest.
The village is best known for hosting the World Indoor Bowls Championship and for its tourist industry.
It is sometimes confused with the village of Hopton which is also in Norfolk but near to the town of Diss.
Hopton-on-Sea has a regular bus service to Norwich, Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft and the village maintains a post office, two local convenience stores, a village primary school, a petrol station and several amusement arcades and take-away food venues linked to the tourist industry.
Notable former residents include comedians Joe Pasquale and Eddie Large.
It has a growing population of around 3000.
