Hope is important released 1998 (see 1998 in music) is the second album by Scottish band Idlewild.
From it, the singles 'A Film for the Future' (charting at No.53), 'Everyone Says You're So Fragile' (47), 'I'm a Message' (41) and 'When I Argue I See Shapes' (19) were all released, their success encouraging album sales and helping to establish Idlewild as a key part of the post-Britpop British indie scene.
