Hope is a town located in Hamilton County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 392.
The Town of Hope was formed in 1818. The town is in the southeast corner of the county.

Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 107.8 km² (41.6 mi²). 105.5 km² (40.7 mi²) of it is land and 2.3 km² (0.9 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 2.09% water.
The south border of the town is Fulton County, New York and the east border is Saratoga County, New York.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 392 people, 155 households, and 113 families residing in the town. The population density is 3.7/km² (9.6/mi²). There are 296 housing units at an average density of 2.8/km² (7.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.49% White, 0.26% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.26% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.00% from two or more races. 1.02% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 155 households out of which 30.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 58.7% are married couples living together, 11.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 26.5% are non-families. 20.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 5.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The Town of Benson is to the west, and the Town of Wells is to the north. The Towns of Day and Edinburg in Saratoga County are on the east border. The Northampton in Fulton County is the south border.
