Holy Family sect
|
The Holy Family sect is a body of worship within the Traditionalist Catholic movement, a group that rejects the reforms of the Second Vatican Council within the Roman Catholic Church. While some of these groups are reconciled with Rome, this congregation is independent. While it has been called a sect, many dispute this characterization given its small size (only about 70 members) and single place of worship (a mission-style church of the same name in Malibu, California.)
Mel Gibson is its most famous member and funded the construction of the church. The congregation has procured the services of an Independent (Sedevacantist) priest, Fr. Louis Campbell.
