Charlottetown (electoral district)

Charlottetown is the name of a federal electoral district and corresponding Canadian Senate Division in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Its population is 32,245. (2001) The Federal House of Commons riding was formed in 2003 previously 96.4% of it was in the riding of Hillsborough.

Geography
The district includes the entire City of Charlottetown. The area is 46 sq. km.
History
The electoral district was created in 2003 Mostly form Hillsbourough, but with 3.6% from Malpeque. Before that the riding of Hillsborough was held by Liberal George Proud from 1988 until 2000.
