Henri Toivonen (August 25, 1956 – May 2, 1986) was a Finnish rally car driver. His brother Harri Toivonen also rallied but less successfully.
He won the RAC Rally in 1980 driving a Talbot and in 1985 driving a Lancia Delta S4.
He died in the 1986 Tour de Corse in a fireball crash that also claimed the life of his co-driver Sergio Cresto when his Lancia Delta S4 flew off the unguarded edge of a left hand hairpin bend and crashed into a ravine. These deaths resulted in a final decision to ban the Group B rally cars.
Annual Race of Champions awards the winning individual driver with the Henri Toivonen Memorial trophy.
