Geography
Hawaiian Ocean View is located at 19°6'28" North, 155°46'2" West (19.107649, -155.767186)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 275.8 km² (106.5 mi²). 264.2 km² (102.0 mi²) of it is land and 11.6 km² (4.5 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 4.20% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,178 people, 941 households, and 541 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 8.2/km² (21.4/mi²). There are 1,382 housing units at an average density of 5.2/km² (13.5/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 56.75% White, 1.01% African American, 1.10% Native American, 6.34% Asian, 11.02% Pacific Islander, 1.97% from other races, and 21.81% from two or more races. 8.40% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 941 households out of which 25.0% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 42.1% are married couples living together, 9.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 42.5% are non-families. 33.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.31 and the average family size is 2.97.
In the CDP the population is spread out with 24.6% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 25.4% from 25 to 44, 33.0% from 45 to 64, and 12.8% who are 65 years of age or older.
