Harvest Records
|
Formed in 1969 by EMI, Harvest Records was designed to promote 'progressive' rock music and to compete with Vertigo Records (launched by Philips Records) and Deram Records (launched by Decca Records). Malcolm Jones and Norman Smith were in charge. It became home for many bands including:
- Iron Maiden
- Little River Band
- Deep Purple
- Pink Floyd
- Syd Barrett
- Kevin Ayers
- The Move
- Electric Light Orchestra
- Wizzard
- The Edgar Broughton Band
- Wire
After Pink Floyd released "The Final Cut", they moved over to EMI. The only recent projects issued with the Harvest imprint was the 2001 Syd Barrett best-of Wouldn't You Miss Me.
