Harriman is a village located in Orange County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 2,252.
The Village of Harriman is in the southeast part of the Town of Monroe.
The village is named after E. H. Harriman, former president of the Union Pacific railroad. Previously, it was known as Turner (or Turners).

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.6 km² (1.0 mi²). 2.5 km² (1.0 mi²) of it is land and 1.00% is water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 2,252 people, 927 households, and 588 families residing in the village. The population density is 887.2/km² (2,295.6/mi²). There are 958 housing units at an average density of 377.4/km² (976.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 81.71% White, 4.80% African American, 0.31% Native American, 7.37% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.40% from other races, and 3.42% from two or more races. 9.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 927 households out of which 35.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 46.8% are married couples living together, 12.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.5% are non-families. 29.9% of all households are made up of individuals and 10.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.43 and the average family size is 3.10.
