Early Career

Barbara Brennan began her career as a physicist. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physics in 1962 from the University of Wisconsin in Madison, Wisconsin. Two years later, she received her Masters in Atmospheric Physics from the same institution. Though she never reached her dream of becoming an astronaut, she eventually took a position as a Research Scientist at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center -- a pioneering achievement for a woman in the 1960s.

After her years spent in the field of physics, her career took an unexpected turn. In 1975, she completed a two-year training program in Therapeutic Counselling at the Community of the Whole Person in Washington, D.C. This was followed by completion of a three-year program in Core Energetics at the Institute for Core Energetics in New York, New York in 1978 and a five-year program in Spiritual Healership at the Phoenicia Pathwork Center in Phoenicia, New York in 1979. With the pursuit and achievement of these degrees, her career focus shifted dramatically from atmospheric physics to a private counselling practice.

As her therapeutic studies and practice developed, Brennan reconnected with the spiritual perception that she had experienced in her childhood. During her sessions, she started to receive intuitive messages about her client that proved to be accurate. She also noticed certain repetitive patterns in the energy consciousness of her clients that indicated common underlying roots to their difficulties. None of her training in atmospheric physics had prepared her directly for these experiential studies of human psychology and spirituality. However, her extensive background in hard science provided her with a framework for understanding and exploring her growing experience with High Sense Perception and the spiritual roots of health and illness. Soon, her career underwent another shift -- this time, from therapy to hands-on spiritual healing.

Barbara Brennan School of Healing

Barbara Brennan is also the founder of the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, an institution of higher learning located in South Florida that offers a Bachelor of Sciences degree in a specific healing modality called "Brennan Healing Science". However, the school is currently not accredited, but only licensed by the State of Florida; Commission for Independent Education, License No. 2897. She also offers seminars in a Hotel in Europe near lake Mondsee, Austria, called "Barbara Brennan School of Healing, Europe".
