Hammond is a village located in St. Lawrence County, New York. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 302. The village is named after an early landowner.
The Village of Hammond is in the Town of Hammond at the junction of Routes 6 and 37.

History
The orginal landowner of the town was Abijah Hammond. The village was formerly known as Hammond Corners.
Geography
Hammond is located at 44°26'53" North, 75°41'35" West (44.44815, -75.693318)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 1.5 km² (0.6 mi²). None of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 302 people, 125 households, and 81 families residing in the village. The population density is 201.0/km² (516.5/mi²). There are 144 housing units at an average density of 95.9/km² (246.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 98.68% White, 0.00% Black or African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.33% Pacific Islander, 0.00% from other races, and 0.66% from two or more races. 0.00% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 125 households out of which 32.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.0% are married couples living together, 9.6% have a female householder with no husband present, and 35.2% are non-families. 33.6% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.8% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.42 and the average family size is 3.11.
In the village the population is spread out with 30.5% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 26.2% from 25 to 44, 20.5% from 45 to 64, and 18.5% who are 65 years of age or older.
