Haleyville is a city located in Winston County, Alabama. As of the 2000 census, the population of the city is 4,182.
On February 16, 1968 the first 9-1-1 emergency telephone system in the nation went into service in Haleyville.

Geography
Haleyville is located at 34°13'48" North, 87°37'8" West (34.230131, -87.618978)Template:GR.
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 19.2 km² (7.4 mi²). 19.2 km² (7.4 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 4,182 people, 1,815 households, and 1,148 families residing in the city. The population density is 217.6/km² (563.9/mi²). There are 2,061 housing units at an average density of 107.2/km² (277.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 94.81% White, 1.48% Black or African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.68% from other races, and 0.74% from two or more races. 3.11% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,815 households out of which 26.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.3% are married couples living together, 11.2% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.7% are non-families. 34.0% of all households are made up of individuals and 17.5% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.87.
In the city the population is spread out with 22.5% under the age of 18, 7.4% from 18 to 24, 24.2% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 42 years. For every 100 females there are 86.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 81.3 males.
