HMS Superb

Nine ships of the Royal Navy have been named HMS Superb.
- The first Superb was a captured French vessel. The 64 gun 3rd rate fell into British hands in 1710 due to HMS Kent. It was broken up in 1732.
- The second Superb was 60 gun 4th rate that was launched in 1736 and broken up in 1757.
- The third Superb was a 74 gun 3rd rate, launched in 1760. In 1783 it was wrecked off India.
- The fourth Superb was also a 74 gun 3rd rate, launched in 1798 and broken up in 1826.
- The fifth Superb was an 80 gun 4th rate, launched in 1842, lasting until 1869.
- The sixth Superb was a battleship that was launched in 1875. It was to have been in Turkish service, named Hamidiyeh. It was sold in 1906.
- The seventh Superb was another battleship, launched in 1907 and sold in 1922.
- The eighth Superb was a light cruiser, launched in 1943 and sold in 1960.
- The ninth and current Superb is a Swiftsure-class nuclear power hunter killer submarine.
- Another ship was to have been named Superb, but was renamed HMS Alexandra in 1874.
